Fiqay ki Lassi & Sadiq Halwa Puri | Lahori Nashta | Pakistani Street Food

Asalam-u-Alaikum My name is Zia Tabarak I'm currently in Lahore. Early in the morning 's breakfast time. I've heard Feeka Lassi is really famous I haven't tried it yet. I'm really excited to try it out. Other than that there's Sadiq Sweets ; other amazing shops. So let's go to Gawalmandi ; see what's happening there. Chalain! "Open from 4 AM till 2 AM." Rafiq Butt aka Chacha Feeka. Salam Brother! How are you. That's the famous Feeka Lassi with Peda. How are you all. What would you say about their Lassi?

Outstanding. Where are you from? I'm the owner Sir. Ask the customers their opinions. So you're the owner. Tell us the history of this shop. My Great Grandfather started this in 1942. Great. What's the secret for this Lassi that it's so famous? First thing is we use Pure  Fresh items. Khoa, Butter, Peda  Milk. Take a look at these layers of Pure Butter. Cups are being lined up. These are the Special Peda's. How's this Lassi? It's amazing! I came all the way from Kasur for this.

(City in Pakistan) You're from Kasur? Yes. Kasur's Falooda  Fish is famous too. Yeah but this is more famous. Yeah you're right. This is Ice and... ...it's going straight in the milk. That's just the Milk? It's ready it just needs to be topped with Khoa. So that was prepared already. Inside there is Sardai (aka Thandai) made from Butter. It'll be added in these cups for thickening. Then the glass will be filled. Basically the Lassi is pre-made... ...and they top it off with Butter,

Peda Ice. A really different combination compared to a Regular Lassi. So let's check how this Lassi is. That's the butter Peda on top of it. And beneath it is the Lassi. So I'll first try out the Peda ; Butter first. The butter is really pure. And the combination of the sweet Peda's... ...makes it taste even great. Now let's try the Lassi. Really nice! Lassi is available everywhere mostly it's the same flavor. But the thing that makes this Lassi unique is the Peda  Butter. And you won't find these 2 items anywhere. What will you say about it? This thing's an addiction. You'll want to go ahead ;sleep for an hour or two after having it. After Feeka Lassi we'll move towards Sadiq Sweets.

Their Halwa Poori is very  famous. So we'll try out their Halwa Poori and check how it tastes. Chalain! In the Streets of Old Lahore you'll find these really old buildings made from red bricks. These buildings are 150-200 year old  still standing. And these buildings are a big part of the culture of Lahore ; Pakistan. We are now at Sadiq Sweet House. They're making Poori's. Salam! How're you? I'm great. He's making Poori's. Great! What's this? This is Sweet Poora. These are Mutton Chicken. Mutton; Chicken Poora. These are the Chickpeas. And these are Potatoes. This a really thick gravy. So we'll try it out. Poora's are being fried here. Is this Mutton or Chicken? It's Chicken. This is filled with Chicken ;we'll try it out as well. It's also a new item. We came here a bit late the breakfast is about to finish. It starts at around 4AM &

ends at about 12AM-1PM. How're you Uncle? I'm great. You're Mr. Sadiq's son? Yes I am. He has 3 sons. So can you tell us how it started? This was our Grandfather's shop. Baba Charaghdin. My father used to run the shop it was actually started by my Grandfather. The first shop was in Chiti Haveli(Chiti Village, Amritsar)... ...but after the migration he opened this shop here in Pakistan. Around 5-6 years ago few Judges from Amritsar came here Among them was a really old judge probably 91-92 years old. He told me this tasted like what my grandfather made back there. People called my grandfather Baba Cha. That was his nickname back there. So he said that this is his recipe. So I went ahead met him. He was a Sikh Judge. He told me had breakfast at my grandfathers place back there. And after all those years he remembered the taste! Yeah he said that it's the exact same taste. You should always do your work with honesty. Look at us.

We've been in this business for 140 years. If you're watching from Amritsar then please do come here.; try out there breakfast. And if you're grandparents are living then they might remember this taste. Our breakfast just came. Mr. Khalil is here with us as well. This is the regular Puri. There are 2 types of Puri's. One's a regular Puri the other's called "Qatlama" This one's a bit crispy  this one's basically just the normal Puri. And the difference is that it's made in Desi Ghee. This is the Chicken Pura. And this is the Halwa. This is also made in Desi Ghee? Yes everything.

These Chickpeas everything else. Chickpeas as well? Yes. I'll first try these Chickpeas. They look really good. This is the normal Puri made in Flour... ...but both of these are made in Desi Ghee. I'll first try these Chickpeas separately. Really amazing! Really rich  smooth texture. And it's really thick because of Desi Ghee. Now I'll try this Puri with the Potatoes. Mr. Khalil, Amazing! I haven't had a Puri like this ever. Not too spicy.

The ratio of the spices is on point. This Halwa was also prepared in Desi Ghee. Halwa is great as well. You can really taste the Desi Ghee in all these items. It's a really healthy meal. Specially Ghee is really good for health. Really nice!
