Turks are grateful to Kai tribe and admire their services and bravery even today.

If we take a look at important leaders of the Ottoman Empire, Osman First and Sultan Muhammad Fateh are prominent. Ertuğrul Gazhi's name is prominent in these leaders. Ertuğrul Gazhi was son of Slaman Shah and father of First Osman who founded Ottoman Empire. Seljuk rulers of Anatolia gave land in Western border region for the services of Ertuğrul and Kai tribe. Ertuğrul and his tribe kept giving hard fights to the Byzantines and Mangols from this peice of land. Ertuğrul Gazhi is held in high esteem in Turkey. When you turn left from Bilecik province,
Travel Of Tomb Of Ertugrul Ghazi
You see that sign of Kai tribe after 2,4 km which tells you that you are entering into Kai tribe's land: Söğüt city. It is big landmark and symbol. Ertuğrul Gazi's tomb is in Söğüt. There is G in Söğüt but G is silent. you will go to Bilecik first to reach Söğüt. It is about 210 km far from Istanbul. You will travel for 20 km from Bilecik to reach Söğüt.

There are 2 options to reach Söğüt city. The first one which I used is private taxi. Here is the cell number of Umer who has a 8 seat luxury Hiace van. I paid him 1200 Turkish Lira for this trip of Söğüt. He picked me from hotel and will drop back at hotel. Second option is to travel through local transport. Buy a 55 Turkish Lira ticket from Istanbul bus station and reach Bilecik through bus. You will have to hire a taxi from Bilecik to Söğüt. This round trip will cost you 300 to 400 Turkish Lira. Stay tuned! When you enter from the main gate, there is the grave of Haima Hatun at the right side who was mother of Ertuğrul Gazi. Before the door of the shrine, is the grave of his middle son Savci Bey. There are more graves beside his Savci Bey grave. These include the grave of Ertuğrul's brotherly friend Turgut Alp and Ertuğrul's eldest son's Gündüz Bey. A little ahead there is grave of Abdul Rehman Alp. He was also a Gazi in history. With him, there is Dundar Bey's grave who was the youngest brother of Ertuğrul Gazi. In it's front lawn, Halima Sultan is laying in her grave. I cannot go there due to water at the moment. Trukish political leaders and ordinary people pay homage here with great deal of gratitude.

Victories of Ertuğrul Gazi are a great chapter not only in Turkish history but in the Muslim history. Strong belief and supporting the righteous was hallmarks of his personality. His trained son changed the course of Islamic history and geography. Muslims remained super power for more than 300 years There're graves of other companions of Ertuğrul as well. There's not entry fee for this tomb's visit. There is a beautiful small family park. You can buy monuments related to Ertuğrul and Kai tribe as gifts.
