Today we are going to Samandar Katha Lake which is a newly built Lake by KPK government in Nathiya Gali. There are two routes leading towards Samandar Katha Lake one is from Muree-Nathia Gali and the other one is from Abbottabad. It is located Muree road near Bara Gali. So i stayed here in Abbottabad last night. If you are coming from Abbottabad then after 33km at the end of Bara Gali you will see a board of Samandar Katha Lake. If you are coming from Muree then this board will appear at 45km. Samandar Katha Road starts from this turn, it is around 5km. The road is concrete till 3km then the remaining 2km is a bumpy road. It is comparatively a narrow road.

Now we are moving from Abbottabad , lets go.. I am travelling from Abbottabad towards Nathia Gali. If you are coming from Lahore or Islamabad, then you should come from Muree road. This region has alot of monkeys , and these monkeys are quite friendly but it is advised to close your car windows while travelling here. Sometimes they might attack as well. Though the roads are beautiful in hilly areas but it is so important to follow the safety rules. Sign boards and speed limits are mentioned here to guide you. I have travelled till Nathia Gali on this road earlier, it is a very beautiful road specially for those who love long drives. Cuts are quite sharp here, indications are also mentioned here for reducing speed and other safety measures. If you are a traveler, then safety should be your first priority. I have seen a very different board here addressing the locals here. Wild tiger is present here in the mountains, so precautionary measures are mentioned here Travel towards the forest in the form of group of 3-4 person if needed, keep your weapon along Keep your kids inside in the dark. For Emergency situations, help line numbers are also mentioned by Forest department. If you are coming from Muree then before entering Bara Gali, you can see this board and if you are coming from Abboattabad then you will see this board after crossing Bara Gali.

You cannot miss this board, Samndar Katha is 5km from here, 3 km road is in good condition, the remaining 2km are bit bumpy but you can easily reach to the lake in 8-10 minutes. If you want to come in a local transport from Muree then it will cost you around PKR 100 and same goes from Abbottabad. If you want to book your private car then it will cost you arounf Pkr 2500-3000/- If you book your private car it is advisable to guide them to go to the Lake directly. If you are a Nature lover and go Green person, then this path is perfect for you. Samandar Katha road is single lane road which can be problematic during rush hours or heavy traffic. The plus point is that it is accessible for every type of car. On our opening day around 7000-8000 people visited this lake. After that there was no parking space left due to the large number of visitors, the parking lane was expanded to the school 1km from here. After 12 noon the number of visitors increased to the level that you won't find space here to sit even. Is there any hotel available here for over night stay? No we are constructing a triple story hotel here. Hall room would be on the ground level and guest rooms on the upper floor. Construction work is going on for the washrooms and other facilities. We are expanding the lake, dam construction is also in pipeline.

Trout fish is also available here. What is the ratio of families and boys visiting here? More families are visiting this place and loving its peaceful atmosphere. Do you have proper canteen here for food? No, not at the moment but on weekends we bring special biryani from Abbottabad for the visitors. If possible try to avoid coming on weekends at peak hours as the road is single lane. I came here at an early hour on a weekday that's why its not that rushy at the moment. It is a small yet very beautiful and peaceful lake, now its our social responsibility to keep it clean. Government is doing its job by facilitating everything here. It was inaugurated on 8th August, 2019. Hotel and other construction work is still going on A small canteen for snacks is available here. Moreover boating facility is also available. Considering privacy of the families visiting here, drone cameras are prohibited in this area.

Which is a good step in my point of view. The families who are visiting Khanaspur,Aubia,Patriata, Nathia Gali and Muree must add Samandar Katha Lake in their trip. It is highly recommended for them, it is a small yet beautiful place with lots of activities and adventure. Zip line facility is also available here but the limit to do that adventure is 80 kg and below. If you are above then 80 kg in weight then you can't do it, I missed it with a little margin though :D This path is around 300m,

starting from this point till that point where you can see a Pakistani flag. This 300 m path zip line costs you PKR 500, which is quite reasonable. They are also extending this zip line in near future. Full boat is for 6 persons and costs you around PKR 1000 for a ride.
